Being Realistic With Weight
Loss
There are so many programmes out there promising to
lose so many pounds here and so many pounds there but
what people really need to know is are they going to lose
any weight from it and keep it off long
term.
Overweight people who are new to healthy eating and
even exercising may never have been taught about the
benefits of a healthy diet or even how beneficial
exercise is to the body and the overall well being of the
person.
Overweight and obese people are the prime targets for
weight loss programme such as Slimming World or Slim Fast
programmes because they don't know where to go and how to
start their weight loss programme and these makers of
diet foods absolutely love the power they have.
It doesn't always have to be like that though. With a
little help from the internet or friends and family there
are ways to start on your weight loss programme without
joining any slimming club or having to buy any special
shake containing every single vitamin and mineral there
is out there.
Changing the diet may be hard but all you need is a
little help from a cracking cook book, some quality
ingredients and you're on your way to healthy cooking and
tasty food. There are many ways to lose weight, from
cutting out calories, taking up exercise, eating spicy
foods and drinking ice cold water but whatever route you
decide to take you must be realistic in terms of weight
loss and remember that whatever weight loss you need to
lose it is not going to happen overnight, it may take
months. That can be the heartbreaking case with some
people. As soon as they start a weight loss programme
when the changes can't be seen in the mirror after 2 or 3
days the person usually reverts back to their old ways.
Patience is the key in terms of long term weight loss.
Patience and will power is needed to succeed! Only you
can get to where you want to be. No-one else. No special
diet programme that promises you will lose 7 pounds of
fat in a week or a special dietary supplement that
promises a 14 pound weight loss in a day will help
because they are not true but patience and believing in
yourself that you can get to your ideal weight will keep
you on the right path.
Overall on any weight loss programme and to keep the
weight off long term you should be aiming to lose 1 pound
a week, maximum 2 but obviously that depends on how much
you already weigh and how much you need to lose. 2 pounds
of weight loss in a week may not seem much but it is
better than 5 pounds of water loss which does not contain
any fat. The key to any long term weight loss programme is the
amount of fat in the body. After 8 weeks there will have
been a loss of up to a stone or over a stone depending on
your weight which should make you feel absolutely
marvellous and want to stay on the path to your dream
perfect weight.
